The HUGEFILE.EXE utility provides a means to edit text files which are too
large to be edited within conventional DOS RAM. This utility can split
large text files into two or more smaller files so that the smaller files
can be edited individually. After editing, the HUGEFILE utility is used to
merge the files back to their original size. (Please note that the input
file should be an ordinary text file with lines of length 1024 or less, and
without embedded null (ASCII 0) characters.)
Full details on the usage of HUGEFILE can be obtained by simply executing
that program without any parameters. That is, just do:
C:> HUGEFILE <Enter>
Note: If you would like to edit large files directly, you may be interested
in our BOXER/TKO product offering. BOXER/TKO will make use of up to 16 MB
of installed RAM to edit files. Please see the file TKO.DOC for full
details.
